Samurai Edge has thoughtful design and provides easy tool sharpening experience. There are 2 manual sharpening slots namely coarse and fine. Coarse is meant to sharpen a blunt knife efficiently while Fine is for polishing and maintaining an already sharp tool. Even an amateur can sharpen a dull tool within seconds! Furthermore, there is a wide range of angles ranging from 14 degree/side to 24 degree/side for you to choose when polishing!

 

We did not forget about the other handy tool in the kitchen - scissors! Samurai Edge has a special grinding shaft for scissors that is very undemanding while polishing your scissors.

 

Apart from polishing your day to day kitchen tools, you can also use it to sharpen other items such as your gardening tool or even screwdrivers! There is also an anti-slip rubber coating and a comfortable and safe handling.

How to use Samurai Edge?

For a blunt knife, sharpen it in the Coarse section before removing the tiny particles using the Fine section. For knives that are already sharp, simply polish it in the Fine section. Hole the Samurai Edge handle is on your left hand with the words indication facing you. Place the knife blade onto the slot and pull it towards you. Do not push it back out to the opposite direction.

How to wash Samurai Edge?

You may clean the blades of Samurai Edge with a damp cloth and use a brush to brush away metal residue.

 

 

How should I store my Samurai Edge?

You may store it in a cool and dry area, away from sharp objects, sunlight and running water.

 

 

How often should Samurai Edge’s Sharpener be replaced?

As with most things it depends on use or misuse. You will be able to tell when your knives take longer to sharpen or don't sharpen, but, with proper care Samurai Edge should last a very long time.

 

 

Can I use Samurai Edge even if I’m left handed?

As long as the Samurai Edge handle is on your left hand with the words indication facing you. You will still need to use your right hand to handle the knife sharpening.

 

 

Do I have to go through both the Coarse and Fine section everytime I polish my knife?

If it's been a long time in between sharpenings or if the knife is super dull, then yes, use both Coarse and Fine. If you sharpen regularly or the knife is not very dull, then the Fine slots should be the only ones needed.

 

 

Does Samurai Edge have any replacement blade?

Samurai Edge does not have any replacement blade available.

 

 

Is there an instruction manual?

There is an instruction manual in the Samurai Edge’s retail box.

 

 

Will Samurai Edge scratch the sides of my knife?

Samurai Edge will not scratch the side of the knife. The tungsten carbide blade is only enough to reach the bevel cutting edge of your knife.

What kind of knives can I use to polish using Samurai Edge?

You can use it to polish different kinds of knives and tools except for serrated knives.

 

 

Is Samurai Edge useful in sharpening ceramic knives?

For ceramic knives, there is no need to sharpen. However, for a ceramic coated knife, you can sharpen it by using Samurai Edge.

 

 

Is Samurai Edge useful in sharpening Japanese knives?

It is useful as long as the number angles of the Japanese knives you own are within 14 to 24.

 

 

Can I use Samurai Edge to sharpen scissors?

Yes you can!

 

 

Will the Samurai Edge sharpen my pocket knife and be able to reshape the tip of it that is damaged from the tip hitting the ground?

This Samurai Edge sharpener can sharpen your pocket knife for sure. For the broken tip of your knife, It depends on how damaged the tip was. If it was broken badly then I'm afraid the sharpener can not help to regenerate a new tip for the knife but can only sharpen its blade.

 

 

Is Samurai Edge sharpener compatible with Wusthof knives?

Samurai Edge is a quality sharpener, so it can be used to sharpen a high quality knife.

 

 

Can I sharpen my axe blade using Samurai Edge?

Due to the size of the grooves of an axe blade, the Samurai Edge sharpener is not designed for the Axe blade.

Is the changing of the number angle applicable to both Coarse and Fine sections?

The Samurai Edge angle adjustment is for coarse and fine. As with every manual knife sharpener of this type, the blade will still need steel to clean the edge of burrs.
